Project Group “Upper Rhine”
From 2015 to 2020, the ORS (Upper Rhine - Rhin supérieur) project group accompanied the implementation planning of an efficient fish pass system at the Upper Rhine barrages Rhinau, Marckolsheim and Vogelgrün for the ICPR. In addition, minor passability or optimisation measures in the loops of the Upper Rhine were also addressed.
In the meantime, the work of PG ORS has been completed. The results of the work were published in a technical report (cf. ICPR technical report No. 262, available only in German, French and Dutch).
In accordance with the new "Rhine 2040" programme, continuity at the above-mentioned barrages in the Upper Rhine is to be implemented in the next few years. The programme was adopted in February 2020 at the 16th Conference of Rhine Ministers.
