In December 2025, the ICPR published its first interim report on the review of the 30% reduction target for micropollutants by 2040. Despite positive developments, particularly in waste water treatment plants, further efforts are needed in all fields of emission.
In principle, the monitoring and assessment system has proven its worth. Individual adjustments have been made, but the data situation still needs to improve significantly in the coming years.
