The Rhine Atlas 2015 (Flood Maps for the International River Basin District ‘Rhine’)

The Rhine Atlas represents flood hazard and flood risk issues according to the Floods Directive (FD) for the main stream of the Rhine from the Alpine Rhine to the North Sea. The Rhine Atlas is made by simplified/aggregated national flood hazard and flood risk maps. Additional information and more detailed national maps are available by clicking on any area of the atlas.

When opening, the tab "Legend" will appear in the chosen language. The tab to the left "Topics" will indicate the different topics of the maps (in English). When clicking on the cross, the list of layers (of maps) belonging to a topic will open.

Click into the white boxes to activate or deactivate the different layers. You may combine different map layers and topics. The "Legend” tab gives further information on the activated layers.

Select the required layers in the “Topics“-layer, and press “Update map” (below, left). The updated map will appear on the right hand side.

You may send maps per mail and print them together with the legends and the ICPR logo; we recommend to do so in landscape format (see toolbar above the map frame).
